My swap failed
A swap fails when the quote expires before you confirm, when the market moves further than the slippage limit while it settles, when the amount is under the provider's minimum, or when your spendable balance is not enough. Failed swaps do not lose funds.
How it shows up
- Swap failed
- Quote expired
- The swap went through but I got my XRP back
- Insufficient balance for the swap
You can fix this yourself
No need to contact support: the steps below are the whole fix.
How support confirms it
- Swapping from XRP: check Activity and xrpscan.com for an outgoing XRP payment to a deposit address. None: the swap failed before paying, nothing left the wallet. Swapping from another token there is no XRP Ledger payment: use the intents hash.
- Paid: open the intents hash on explorer.near-intents.org; a refund comes back in the asset that was paid, to the balance it left. Refund present: closed. Refund absent after 30 minutes: treat as swap pending and escalate.
The usual causes
The quote expired. A quote is a live price and it is only good for a short time. If you take a while on the confirmation screen, go back and request it again.
The market moved beyond the slippage limit. The confirmation screen shows a max slippage of 1%. If the price moves further than that between your confirmation and settlement, the swap fails on purpose instead of filling at a worse rate, and what you paid with comes back to your wallet. Try again; in a fast market it may take two attempts.
The amount is under the minimum. The provider sets a minimum per pair, and the amount field tells you when you are under it.
Not enough spendable balance. Swapping from XRP, the swap needs the amount plus the tiny network fee and cannot touch the 1 XRP reserve. Use a percentage shortcut instead of typing the full balance.
Did I lose anything?
A failed swap does not lose your funds: a swap either completes or the asset you paid with is returned to the wallet it left. If what you paid with left your balance and has not come back after 30 minutes, treat it as a swap stuck on Pending: support can look it up from the hashes on the swap card.
I sent funds to the wrong network or the wrong address
Blockchain transfers cannot be reversed by anyone. Whether anything can be done depends on where the funds actually went, so this page walks through the cases.
My swap is stuck on Pending
Swaps leave the XRP Ledger and settle through the multichain layer, so they take tens of seconds rather than a few. Pending means the swap is still moving. It becomes a problem only when it has been pending for a long time with no change.
