I sent funds to the wrong network or the wrong address
Blockchain transfers cannot be reversed by anyone. Whether anything can be done depends on where the funds actually went, so this page walks through the cases.
How it shows up
- I sent USDC on Ethereum to my Base deposit address
- I sent tokens to my XRP address on another network
- I sent to an old deposit address
- I sent to the wrong address by mistake
- Can you reverse my transaction

Check it yourself
- Which applies: what happened?
- If I sent XRP on the XRP Ledger to a wrong or mistyped address, continue with step 2.
- If I sent XRP to an exchange but left out the destination tag, read "I sent XRP to an exchange and it never arrived".
- If I sent on another network, or to an address on the wrong network, read "The honest version first" below, then contact support from Settings, then Support.
- Search the transaction hash, from the payment's receipt in Activity on xrpscan.com and look at the Result and the Destination.
- If it says the transaction was not found, contact support from Settings, then Support.
- If the Result says anything other than tesSUCCESS, read "The payment did not go through" below.
- If the Result says tesSUCCESS, read "Case 4: XRP sent from XRP Mobile to a wrong or mistyped XRP address" below, then contact support from Settings, then Support.
Have this ready if you contact support
- The transaction hash on the sending network
- Which asset, which network, and which address you sent to
- Where the address came from: the Receive screen, a saved note, a contact
The honest version first
No wallet, exchange or team can reverse a confirmed blockchain transaction. XRP Mobile does not hold your funds and has no admin key over the XRP Ledger or any other network. What follows is what can and cannot be done, case by case.
Case 1: right asset, wrong network, an address the app gave you
Example: the app gave you a USDC on Base deposit address and you sent USDC on Ethereum to it.
Sometimes recoverable, never automatic. The funds are at a real address on the other network and the multichain layer may be able to sweep them. Contact support with the transaction hash. Expect it to take time and do not send anything else to that address meanwhile.
Case 2: wrong asset to a deposit address
Example: USDT sent to a USDC deposit address on the same network.
Same as case 1: sometimes recoverable, contact support with the hash.
Case 3: a token sent to your XRP Ledger address on a different network
Example: XRP sent on the BNB Smart Chain or Ethereum to your r-address.
Unfortunately we can't recover this from our side. Your XRP Ledger address does not exist on other networks. The recovery path, if any, is with the platform you sent from, because the address format is not even valid there and most platforms block it.
Case 4: XRP sent from XRP Mobile to a wrong or mistyped XRP address
Unfortunately this payment can't be reversed, by us or by anyone else. The XRP Ledger checks that an address is valid, not that it is the one you meant. If the account already existed, its owner now holds the XRP. If it did not and you sent 1 XRP or more, the payment created it. Either way, only the owner of that address can send it back: if you know who that is, a friend or a service you use, ask them directly.
Case 5: sent to an exchange without the destination tag
Recoverable, by the exchange. See I sent XRP to an exchange and it never arrived.
The payment did not go through
Good news: the ledger shows this payment failed, so the XRP never left your wallet. Only the small network fee was spent. To send it again, see A payment fails with a generic error.
Avoiding it next time
- Always pick the asset and the network in Receive before copying anything, and read the warning under the address.
- Never reuse a deposit address from an old message or note.
- Send a small test amount first when it is a new route.
I sent XRP and the recipient says it never arrived
An XRP payment settles in seconds. If it succeeded, the XRP is at the address it was sent to, whoever owns it. The question is whether that is the address the recipient is looking at.
My swap failed
A swap fails when the quote expires before you confirm, when the market moves further than the slippage limit while it settles, when the amount is under the provider's minimum, or when your spendable balance is not enough. Failed swaps do not lose funds.
