The app asks me to update
When a release fixes something that affects funds or security, older versions are asked to update before they continue. Updating never touches your wallet, your keys or your PIN.
How it shows up
- Update required screen
- The app won't open until I update
- Will I lose my wallet if I update
You can fix this yourself
No need to contact support: the steps below are the whole fix.
How support confirms it
- No lookup needed. Confirm the store shows the newer version in the user's region.
What to do
Open the App Store or Google Play, search for XRP Mobile and tap Update. Reopen the app and unlock as usual. Everything is where you left it.
Nothing is lost by updating
Your keys stay in the phone's secure storage across updates. You keep the same wallets, the same PIN and the same settings. The only time you need your recovery phrase is when you move to a new device or reinstall.
The store does not offer an update
- Stores roll releases out gradually; check again in an hour.
- Make sure you are signed in to the store with an account in a region where the app is available.
- As a last resort, uninstalling and reinstalling gets the latest version, but only if you have your recovery phrase or secret numbers for every wallet, because reinstalling removes the keys from the device.
I received a tiny amount of XRP I did not expect
Anyone can send a fraction of a cent to any XRP Ledger address, and some senders do it to advertise. The transactions are real and harmless. Ignore them, and never follow a link or a name they carry.
I think my wallet was hacked or drained
If funds left your account without you, someone has your recovery phrase, secret numbers or private key, or has taken over the account's signing keys. Transactions cannot be reversed; what matters now is stopping further loss and understanding what happened.
